FILM

Nothing Forever is a sci-fi horror short I wrote, directed and edited during my fourth year at film school. The film follows Ella, a naive teenager, and her mother, Susan, on their way to a funeral. When their car suddenly breaks down, they come face to face with an unnatural creature that will change their lives forever.

Inspiration for Nothing Forever came from Netflix’s Love, Death and Robots as well as episodes of The X-Files and The Twighlight Zone. Along with the general tone of these shows, Nothing Forever also shares a significant inclusion of 3D CGI used to bring to life the main antagonist - a sentient biocomputer.

To achieve our desired supernatural feel, every shot in the film used an Atlas Orion Anamorphic 50mm lens. This lens gave us softer edges and a specific bokeh that made every scene feel almost dreamy. It puts audiences directly in the shoes of our young protagonist Ella, as if we’re experiencing the film as a memory of our own.

Nothing Forever is currently being submitted to film festivals. Watch the teaser here.
